Job Title: IT Engineer



Position: IT Engineer

Location: San Jose, CA

Role: We are looking for an experienced IT engineer with both technical and interpersonal skills to support IT operations for our small, but, growing company.

Description:

As an IT engineer, you will help to meet the company’s needs for computer hardware, software, and networking tools. You work to develop, test, install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computer hardware and software. As part of this process, you work to create proper documentations, diagrams, and other detailed instructions to help other employees make the best use of new technologies.

You will be responsible for fixing and maintaining the company’s IT systems; this is vital because these systems enable the organization and its employees to operate and communicate with one another daily.

Responsibilities:

  • Setting up and maintaining accounts for the employees of the company in an automated way.
  • Evaluation and deployment of new equipment/technologies as the company continue its growth
  • Supporting and maintaining end-user systems which run Windows OS, macOS, and Linux
  • Provisioning applications and supporting users with various applications i.e. JIRA, Confluence, Slack, GitHub, Password Manager, etc.
  • Patch management, backups local/remote, maintaining application’s license and their renewal
  • Manage, monitor, and maintaining network equipment and servers of our onsite server room
  • Setting up and configuring VPN, firewall, routing, VLAN etc.

Requirements:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent technical degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of networking concepts such as DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, OSI Model, VLAN, and VPN
  • Practical experience in Active Directory, LDAP, and/or Directory-as-a-Service
  • SSO (Single Sign-On), MFA (Multi Factor Authentication)
  • Practical experience in configuring VPN, security appliances, firewall, switches/routers, VLAN
  • Good understanding of PKI (Public Key Infrastructure)

Additional Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Cloud environments (AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure)
  • Advanced experience in configuring security appliances, firewall, switches
  • Exposure to security concepts and best practices
  • Knowing best practices for: Domain Controller, SSL/TLS, Active Directory, LDAP, Kerberos, SASL, Encryptions at Rest, Encryption in Transit, Access Controls (RBAC, MAC, DAC)
  • Hands on experience with IT automation tools
